Being a new mom is challenging. Being a teen mom is even more challenging. Wouldn’t it be great if babies came with instructions?

Pregnant and Parenting clients of the TEEN Center are paired with a Family Support Worker who assists them in navigating the web of services available to parents.

TEEN Center Family Support Workers are certified in the Parents as Teachers parenting education curriculum.

Certified Family Support Workers

  • Conduct home visits to give support and education
  • Provide/ arrange transportation assistance for clients for TEEN Center and doctor’s appointments

Link eligible clients with various services:

  • WIC
  • ALL Kids or Medicaid
  • Family Planning services & Birth Control
  • Pregnancy Test information & referrals

The TEEN Center hosts 2 Educational Group Sessions per month. Pregnant and Parenting teens, their partners and parents are invited to attend. Topics include:

  • Prenatal Classes (for Prenatal Clients only)
  • Classes on STD & HIV/ AIDS prevention
  • Household Budgeting
  • Anger Management
  • Self-esteem Building
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Domestic Violence Prevention
  • Etc.

Childcare is offered onsite for those teens participating in TEEN Center activities (i.e. GED Classes, educational group sessions, WIC appointments, Women’s Center appointments, Counseling, meetings with Family Support Workers).
